February 2008 Newsletter
Ath Bhliain Faoi Mhaise! (Happy New Year!)
I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday! Now that the holidays have passed, things are pretty much back to normal at LittleShamrocks.com. We had some nice comments on the web site in December and January, and thousands of people were searching through our holiday recipes. Mary Lydon emailed with raves about the web site and said that she loved all the new Irish recipes.
Speaking of recipes, I have chosen several recipes for Valentine's Day treats. There are two choices for breakfast: eggs benedict with boxtie hearts and heart-shaped pancakes with blueberries and cream. I have baked some heart-shaped cranberry scones for your tea or coffee break and some really cute valentine-decorated sugar cookies. I have also made a heart-shaped decorated Irish apple cake. All of you bakers out there will have fun making these items for your sweethearts. I have also made a new entree, which is a new recipe for Irish cheddar, broccoli and mushroom pie. I will have some new St. Patrick's Day recipes for you to try soon, including Fisherman's Chowder, several appetizers, a pot roast dinner and cookies.
We have become affiliated with some additional companies that sell Irish products: ShopIrish.com for Irish gifts & iGourmet.com for some wonderful new Irish food items & gift baskets. We also have added a few new products from FoodIreland, which are Nestle's Aero Bubbles Mint Chocolate Bites and Boland's Coconut Cream Cookies.
We also now have an RSS feed which gives you the opportunity to sign up for notification of any updates relating to your particular interests found on LittleShamrocks.com. We hope you will take a look at these new additions to our web site.
What is an RSS Feed?
We received a nice note from Gerry Bohan. He is in the process of preparing his January report about County Leitrim, which will be published in next month's newsletter. Gerry's elderly parents, Teresa and J.P., have been ill with the flu, as well as Gerry himself. He said that he rang in the New Year at O'Brien's Tavern, which is something that Terry and I would like to do one day.
Well, that's the news for this month. I will be looking forward to hearing from you about the trip or anything else that you would like to share. Until next time
Sláinte,
Tyna
