April 2010 Newsletter
Hi friends,
Wow! March sure was a busy month for LittleShamrocks.com. It is always the busiest because of St. Patrick's Day. As time passes, we get more and more traffic coming into the site, as well as more and more orders for Irish products, mainly food. The total of individuals who came to the site in March was well over 86,786, up from last year's total of 63,878; and over 13,000 on St. Patrick's Day alone, up from last year's 8,683.
I always hear from people with questions about the Irish recipes and, in March, appetizers are a particular favorite. People like to present a variety of finger foods for their St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
So, now we are in April, and Easter is on the 4th this year. Lou has featured many of our Easter recipes and products on the Home Page, so I hope that you will try some of them. You can also read the article of Irish Easter Traditions.
We have received a wonderful response from our LittleShamrocks.com FaceBook page. We have many more fans, and many have spread the word to their friends about our web site. The number of subscribers to our newsletter increased sharply in March and we believe that our FaceBook page contributed quite a bit. We recently connected with another FaceBook business, Ben's Sugar Shack, producers of Pure New Hampshire Maple Syrup.
I prepared a new entree, Irish Apple Maple Pork Chops, using Ben's Pure Maple Syrup. The recipe appears on both LittleShamrocks.com and Ben's Sugar Shack Website.
Ben's website was built by our webmaster, Lou Bradbard, of Wild Goose Web Design. I will be preparing more of Ben's maple recipes for photographing and publishing on his site.
We are pleased to announce that Gerry Bohan has returned with his column "The Leitrim Connection". He was very busy during 2009 and is now back with news from Co. Leitrim.
I received a submission from Sandrine Teti, from France, asking if I would post some information about a watercolor painting course being offered in Ireland in June. If you are interested, here is a link to their notice:

I am going to be busy in April preparing a wedding shower for my son, Chris, and his fiancee, Robin. I am going to make lots of appetizers, including some of the ones on LittleShamrocks.com, such as Irish Sausage Kebabs, Teriyaki Chicken Wings and Irish Prawn Bundles. I am also making a shower cake using the Irish Lemon Carrot Cake recipe, iced with my Best Cream Frosting. I will take a photo and add it in May.
Until next time, I wish you and your families a very lovely Easter.
Sláinte,
Tyna
